Design, prototype, collaborate and handoff

In brief
- Why is there no free plan?
- Sketch offers unlimited free Viewers who can browse, comment on designs, inspect files and download assets. For students and teachers, Sketch provides free Education workspaces. Beyond these options, Sketch maintains a sustainable business model by selling at a fair price, having been profitable since day one. The company believes that free plans inevitably lead to unpaid costs and feature removal to push customers to paid tiers. Sketch's focus is on adding value through consistent improvements rather than removing features to monetize.
- Do you offer discounts for non-profit organizations?
- Qualified non-profit organizations receive a 50% discount on either a yearly Standard subscription or Mac-only license purchase. Organizations must be officially recognized by their country's government and can apply using their official email with government-issued NPO certificates. Schools, universities, political organizations, private foundations, and government organizations do not qualify.
- What happens when I cancel my subscription?
- When cancelling a subscription, access continues until the end of the billing period. After cancellation, documents enter read-only mode and can be downloaded for up to 90 days. Editors cannot open, edit, or upload documents, and members cannot be added or edited during this period. The workspace and all documents are permanently deleted 90 days after cancellation, unless manually deleted sooner.
- Can I work offline with Sketch?
- Yes, Sketch allows offline design work. The native macOS app enables users to disconnect and design without compromises, working locally without internet on their terms. Users can save documents locally and continue designing offline.
- What data privacy protections does Sketch provide?
- Sketch collects minimal analytics, does not set cookies for tracking, and does not follow users with advertisements. The company does not track what users do in documents or how they spend their time. No one, not even Sketch staff, can view files unless explicitly allowed by the user. Data is stored in AWS us-east-1 across multiple availability zones, with ISO 27001 compliance, PCI Certification, and SOC2 Certification.
