How does the billboard leaderboard work?
The billboard ranks listings by money contributed, separate from community votes and other rankings.

The billboard is a leaderboard at /leaderboards/billboard where listings are ordered by the total amount their founders have contributed in US dollars. The page is clearly labelled as a paid ranking, so anyone visiting knows what they are reading.
Adding your contribution
To add it from your account, your listing must be live. Sign in and go to /account/listings, then select 'Upgrades and extras' next to your listing. Enter your contribution amount under Billboard—the minimum is $5. You can also add a contribution during the submission process, at the plan step.
Contributions accumulate. Each new amount you add goes on top of what your listing has already contributed, and the board reorders itself by total. Everyone who has ever contributed remains on the leaderboard.
Why it is separate
The billboard is its own system, distinct from community votes, Launch of the Week, verification badges and Domain Rating. Each ranking is labelled to show what it measures. A contribution to the billboard does not earn you a community vote, does not affect any other ranking and is not reduced by a promo code. You are choosing to appear in a separate, transparent leaderboard that shows founders willing to back their listings with money.
Linked to your website for life
The full board at /leaderboards/billboard shows every contributor, and each company name is a followed link (no nofollow) to that company's website. It is kept for life and is not tied to your position. It is removed only when a listing is taken down for breaking our rules, or when the contribution is refunded.
Questions people ask
- Can a billboard contribution buy me votes or change my position elsewhere?
- No. The billboard is separate from all other rankings—community votes, Launch of the Week, verification and Domain Rating. Each system is labelled on the site so visitors know what they are looking at.
- What if I add more money to my billboard contribution later?
- Your new contribution is added to your previous total, and the leaderboard reorders by the combined amount. You remain on the board as long as you have contributed.
