Complete your founder story before launch
Your founder profile must be finished for any listing to go live. Here's what to add and why it matters.
Updated
Every founder on Startup Launched has a story, and that story begins with a complete profile. Before any listing can appear on the site—whether paid or waiting in the queue—your profile needs to be filled out.
The essentials for your profile
Visit /account/founder and gather these pieces. You'll need a photograph (with a brief caption of what it shows), your full name, and your current title or role. Tell us which country you're based in, then write a short bio—at least 80 characters. Finally, add at least one personal link: your own website or a social profile that belongs to you, not your company.
City and a link to your founder story are nice to have, but not required.
What happens while your profile is incomplete
You can draft, submit and even pay for a listing. But it won't go live until your profile is complete. The listing isn't lost in the process. The moment you finish your profile, the listing releases automatically. If you've paid for a specific week and that week has already passed, your listing goes live this week at no extra cost. If no paid week remains, it enters the next available free queue slot, and we'll let you know when.
Bringing in co-founders
Invite your co-founders from the Team section of /account/founder. They'll appear on your product listing once they've completed their own profiles.
Questions people ask
- Why can't my listing go live yet?
- Your founder profile is incomplete. Finish it at /account/founder—add your photo, name, role, country and bio—and your listing will release right away.
- Will I lose my paid week if my profile isn't ready in time?
- No. If your paid week is still ahead when you complete your profile, it's kept. If that week has passed, your listing goes live this week paid, or enters the next free queue week if unpaid.
- Do company social accounts count as my personal link?
- No. Add your own website or personal social profile instead—something that represents you as a founder, not your company.
